I decided that along with sending out save the date cards, I wanted to enclose a little something that people could put on their calendars. I decided on a purple flower :)
I just took a flower paper punch, a nail file, gold stamp pad, and adhesive jewels to create these beauties. I have the flowers on foam stickers but left the paper backing on the side not attached to the flower and then glued that part to the card. I'm hoping that people will be able to peel the flower off without any trouble!

Save the date!
Here they are! These are the save the dates that I whipped up on picnik. The picture was from our trip to Myrtle Beach (the day before we became engaged...hence no ring...) I uploaded the design to Costco and they will be ready in an hour! Woo hoo!

Colors :)
So I think I have finally settled on some colors for the big day :) At first, I was trying to put together waaaay too many colors. I have decided on two colors and then I will let accent colors happen as they may.
It's the perfect marriage of VT and JMU :)

My Girls!!
I have some special ladies that I want to introduce to you. First of all would be my wonderful sister, Jessica. I have asked her to be my Matron of Honor and she has kindly accepted.
I'm Jessica's older sister by two years but she has already paved the way in tying the knot two years ago. We have had many adventures together and I'm sure this is just another one to be added to the list. Clearly, we have known each other for her entire life!
My next bridesmaid is my future sister-in-law, Nina! Nina graduated from the University of Virginia this past spring and has landed a job with Nielsen (you know, the TV rating guys) in New York City. I am really looking forward to getting to know her better throughout the planning process.

Now, I shall list the rest of my 'maids in order of who I have known shortest to longest :) Jessica is a friend that I met seven years ago through a mutual friend. Jess is actually the reason that Alex and I met so of course, she has a special place in my heart! She posted on facebook that she was going to be at a local restaurant and invited everyone to come by and hang out. For some reason, I decided to meet her up there and lo and behold, Alex was there too. Jess' husband Mike (Alex's bestman) is Alex's bestie so needless to say, all of us hang out quite a bit.
My good friend Christine and I met at GAP our junior year in high school. When we went off to college, we began working at Banana Republic and we continued to work together on winter/summer breaks. After we graduated from college, we no longer worked together and enjoyed fabulous discounts on clothes; instead we became great gym buddies and practiced some therapy on the elliptical ;) She has always been a source of guidance and wisdom in good time and bad.
Last, but certainly not least, is Jenny. Jenny and I have known each other for 13 years. We met each other through marching band and symphonic band. We were stand partners for much of that time (meaning we sat right next to each other) and played many duets together. More recently, Jenny has become a certified personal trainer and we have enjoyed working out with each other. We will be running the Hot Chocolate 15k together on December 3rd :)
So there you have it! I'm very excited to share this special time in my life with these wonderful friends :)

Say yes to the dress????
Hello! So this is all stuff that you have already seen if you visited my other wedding page. I have simply converted this into another blog so that I can post a lot more stuff :)
This first dress was beautiful and HEAVY! My legs literally started sweating within two minutes of putting it on. This is a great dress for a ceremony only or maybe for the bride who isn't planning on busting a move at her reception. Beautiful but not the dress for me.
I also did not look at the price when trying it on....$1200, no a possibility anyway! |
The next dress was one of my favorites! It was so beautiful, had a little bit of a sleeve, and fully covered the ladies so that I could dance all night long without having to readjust ;) Sadly, this was a plus size dress. I tried on the 14W and it was already a little too big. I felt great that I was too small for it but it was sad that it wasn't going to be a possibility.
It almost looks like I am wiping tears away...haha |
This was another favorite. I actually saw another bride trying it on and thought it would be flattering on me. I was totally right. I think that the empire waist on this dress really made my waist look small. What I liked about this dress was that it was very simple and elegant with just a touch of bling. The best part about this dress is that they had a matching flower girl dress too :)
I loved the price about the next dress the most! It was only $300 :) I liked the off-shoulder sleeves, although they definitely made it a little uncomfortable to raise my arms up while dancing. I love a Jersey Shore fist pump!
And this is the infamous convertible dress:

I did not end up saying yes to any of these dresses. I do have a dress though that will remain top secret until the big day!!!
